The 2024 Great Electric Train Show will take place on October 12/13 at the Marshall Arena in Milton Keynes (MK1 1ST) following the 10th anniversary show in 2023.

The 2024 event is set to feature up to 30 layouts, more than 50 trade stands plus demonstrations and advance tickets are on sale now.

The 2024 show is sponsored by Accurascale, Heljan, TMC and West Hill Wagon Works.

Key Publishing's Publisher, Modelling Mike Wild said: "We are really looking forward to opening the doors to the 2024 Great Electric Train Show. The Key Model World and Hornby Magazine team are working on plans to display a brand-new layout at the 2024 Great Electric Train Show alongside other popular layouts from our collection.

Please note that due to a football match taking place at the MK Dons Stadium, there will be no parking available for the Great Electric Train Show in the venue car park on Saturday October 12. Alternative parking details will be announced shortly, alternatively you can source local parking through websites highlighted in the Visitor Information section. Parking for Sunday October 13 will be available at the venue - Marshall Arena, Milton Keynes MK1 1ST - where the standard parking fees apply.

Cromwell Road Bridge

The Marlow and Maidenhead Model Railway Club's latest 7mm finescale layout is heading for the 2024 Great Electric Train Show - a 40ft long layout named Cromwell Road Bridge.

Wandleford Junction

The 1980s in the suburbs of London is the setting for Andrew Knights fascinating BR Southern Region layout. See it at the 2024 Great Electric Train Show on October 12/13 2024 in Milton Keynes.

St Pankraz in Steirmark

St Pankraz in Steiermark is the terminus of a branch line in the Steiermark region of Austria. Trains on the line are operated by the Austrian Federal Railways (OBB) or the private Steiermarkische Landesbahnen (StLB) and the layout is set in the colourful autumn period.

Visitor Information

When

October 12/13 2024, Doors open at 10am (9.30am for advance ticket holders) until 5pm on Saturday and until 4pm on Sunday.

Tickets

Advance ticket holders receive entry 30 minutes earlier than the normal opening times.

On-the-door tickets will be available on each day the show is open from the Ticket Desk at the Main Entrance. Please note at busy tickets on the day ticket customer may have to wait for entry to the show.

A child ticket is valid for children between 5-16 years of age.

Persons over 16 years of age will be charged an Adult ticket price and there are no concession tickets for persons over 60 years of age.

Great Electric Train Show – Disabled Visitor Policy

The Great Electric Train Show does not offer a special rate to disabled visitors, but does offer free admission for carers who are accompanying disabled visitors.

A maximum of one carer for each disabled visitor is permitted access to the Show free of charge to accompany and enable the disabled person to visit the exhibition.

Carer admission tickets are not available online and can only be collected from the Great Electric Train Show Ticket Desk situated inside the Main Entrance.

Visitors who have the following documentation are entitled to one free carer ticket, however, the visitor with the disability and any further members of their party will pay full price.

Visitors can use the following documentation as proof of disability:

Disability Living Allowance (DLA)

Attendance Allowance (AA)

Personal Independence Payments (PIP)

Blind Persons Registration

Armed Forces Independence Payment (AFIP)

 

Visitors must show the relevant paperwork at the Ticket Desk when they buy or collect their ticket.

Parking will be available on Sunday October 13 at the venue - Marshall Arena, Milton Keynes MK1 1ST - where the standard parking fees apply. The car park is ANPR monitored for payment, and all vehicles parked at the Marshall Arena will be subject to standard car parking charges on the Great Electric Train Show weekend.

A FREE shuttle bus service will be running throughout both show days from Milton Keynes Central railway station to the Marshall Arena operated by Stagecoach.
