The rise in popularity of the smallest mainstream scale shows no sign of abating. MARK CHIVERS outlines the new models we can expect.
There appears to be no let-up in the number of ‘N’ gauge models planned for the next 12 months and beyond with at least 56 projects on the go, including 27 locomotives or multiple units and 29 items of rolling stock currently in development.
Of the motive power projects, eight are steam locomotives while the remainder are diesel, electric or bi-mode. The rolling stock roster boasts ten carriage projects and 18 wagon projects. Within these, some models are variations on a theme, but there are also a couple of projects such as the new Revolution Trains Mk 5 carriages which are bundled as single projects due to their availability, although in reality they will spawn more than one vehicle type.
