This exciting new scale is expanding rapidly. MARK CHIVERS reveals what’s coming up in the next year.
Appearing in the New Model Guide for the first time, ‘TT:120’ scale officially launched in June 2022 when Peco revealed details of a series of new buildings and track for the scale.
This new development for the hobby offered a more refined and true scale, which prompted Heljan and Gaugemaster to follow with announcements of new products including a Class 31 diesel from Heljan (since withdrawn) and a selection of accessories to complement the already-announced buildings from Gaugemaster. The retailer also suggested that it might consider introducing a ready-to-run Class 66 for the scale.

In October, Hornby revealed that it too was planning to enter the ‘TT:120’ scale market and rather than introduce a couple of items to test the water, the manufacturer launched an entire range of products including locomotives, rolling stock, buildings, track and accessories – in fact, all you need to start building an entire model railway in the new scale.
