WITHOUT DOUBT, the Millennium Falcon is the most famous ship in the Star Wars universe – after all, the “fastest hunk of junk in the galaxy” completed the Kessel Run in less than 12 parsecs.

Tied for second place would be the Rebel Alliance’s X-Wing and the Empire’s TIE Fighter. Throughout the whole movie saga, these two craft would battle each other on multiple occasions for dominance of the stars, akin to the way piston-engined fighters did in a galaxy closer to home in the 1940s.

However, it would be an error to think this selection was all there was to the franchise’s canon. In fact, there are a whole host of other ships, both Rebel and Imperial, that have flown across many a cinema or television screen. What’s more, a basic search will reveal that more than a few of these are available to the modelling fraternity, be it in plastic or resin.
