The Avro Shackleton MR.3 in 1/144 has been re-released by resin specialist CMR, as CHRIS CLIFFORD learns.
Fans of the mighty Avro Shackleton have Airfix, Revell and FROG kits to tackle in 1/72 scale. However, if you’re short on display space – or simply prefer smaller models – CMR’s 1/144 Shackleton family offers the only real avenue in this scale, unless you can locate the Welsh Models MR.2/AEW.2. The CMR kits first appeared in 2005 with the MR.3 leading the charge, followed closely by MR.2/AEW.2 and MR.1 boxings. Thankfully, that first item is now available again as CMR144-001, Avro Shackleton MR.3 ‘The Growler’.
