Eduard has reissued its 1/48 F6F-3 Hellcat Weekend Edition kit with a fresh decal sheet.
Many boxings of Eduard’s 1/48 Grumman Hellcat have appeared since the initial tooling in 1996. One of those was a Weekend Edition of the F6F-3. However, the company has released yet another kit in this format, with styrene parts alone, but the decal sheet is changed… and more generous. With item 84194 you receive markings for four different Hellcat airframes – three US Navy and one employed by the British Fleet Air Arm. Now, while this is one of Eduard’s older kits, it’s nonetheless excellent, offering plentiful detail and alternative components. The latter include engine cowlings, cockpit glazing and radio masts.
