VIDEO: Hatton's Class 66 for 'OO' gauge

Hatton's all-new 'OO' gauge Class 66 touched down in the Hornby Magazine office in late December 2019 - just in time to feature in our February 2020 issue.

For review we received samples of 66088 in DB branded EWS maroon and gold together with 66789 British Rail 1948-1997 in its unique GBRf BR 'large logo' blue livery.

The Class 66s feature a centrally mounted five-pole motor, twin brass flywheels, all-wheel drive and a plethora of lighting abilities. These include day and night modes and switchable taillights. There is also space for a large speaker in the chassis as well as a 21-pin DCC decoder socket to power the model on digital control.

Other highlights include rotating axle boxes, buffer beam detail, etched radiator grilles, turned metal wheels, sprung buffers and NEM coupling pockets at each end of the locomotives.
