Heljan reveals decorated Class 56s
Heljan has revealed factory decorated samples of its newly-tooled ‘O’ gauge Class 56 diesel.
The eagerly-awaited new ‘Grid’ reflects the later Doncaster and Crewe built locomotives (56056-56135) with eleven models planned in the initial batch – ten general release examples and a limited edition for Tower Models.
Liveries include un-numbered BR blue (Cat No. 5600), BR large logo blue (5601), Railfreight large logo grey (5602), Railfreight red stripe grey (5603), unbranded Railfreight triple grey (5604), Loadhaul black and orange (5607) and Transrail grey (5610 – Tower Models exclusive of just 75 models).
In addition to the un-numbered models, there will also be four fully-finished examples as 56101 Mutual Improvement in weathered Railfreight Coal triple grey (5605), 56110 Croft in Railfreight Construction triple grey (5606), 56099 in BR large logo blue with Tinsley embellishments (5608) and 56071 in BR blue (5609).
Heljan’s model will feature a heavy-duty chassis, twin motors, brass flywheels, rotating roof fans, LED lighting, DCC friendly PCB, etched metal grilles, sprung buffers, screw-link couplings and plenty of separately applied detailing.
Prices are set at £699 for pristine models and £719 for the weathered example.Release is expected in late 2021/early 2022.
