HORNBY'S MODELS of the unique Gresley ‘W1’ 4-6-4 have been around since the beginning of this year, and not surprisingly sound decoders for these impressive locomotives are now available from Locoman Sounds with a choice of the original ‘Hush Hush’ high pressure compound locomotive and the conventional three-cylinder rebuilt engine.
Both sound profiles are available on the Doehler & Haass decoder platform – which is distributed in the UK by Locoman Sounds – while there is also the option to purchase an ESU LokSound 5 decoder from Locoman for the rebuilt locomotive.
The Doehler & Haass (D&H) decoder family is made in Germany and offers a more affordable price point for digital sound – around £15 cheaper than the equivalent ESU chip. The goo…
