New contributor Oleg Makhortov is charged with NuNu’s 1/24 replica of the Volvo 240 Turbo – winner of the 1986 European Touring Car Championship race at Hockenheim, Germany.

In 1984, the first 240Ts ran in their opening Group A races in the European Touring Car Championship (ETCC) and became a real challenge for other teams. Known for its speed and boxy body style, the type was dubbed the ‘flying brick’ by fans and rivals. Among several operators, Belgium’s RAS Sport (sponsored by Nordica) competed with the 240T during 1986, and the prototype depicted took first place at Germany’s Hockenheimring circuit.

With the final details added – particularly those from NuNu’s PE fret – the model was ready. Otherwise, the firm’s 1/24 Volvo 240 Turbo is a simple kit with a low parts count, separate clear components and excellent quality decals representing the winner of the 1986 ETCC Hockenheim race.
