Kernow Model Rail Centre’s (KMRC) range of exclusive South West-themed models is set to be bolstered with an ‘O’ gauge model of GWR’s Class 08 08645 St Piran in its distinctive Kernow flag livery.
08645’s eye-catching black with white cross colour scheme and name were revealed during the open day at GWR’s Long Rock maintenance depot in Penzance in 2019.
Commissioned from Dapol exclusively for KMRC, the models will have a five-pole motor, die-cast chassis, 21-pin Digital Command Control (DCC) decoder socket and all-wheel pick-ups. Detailing is set to include short bonnet handrails, original wooden cab doors, electric lamps and lamp irons.
Two 'O' gauge models of 08645 are planned in DCC ready (Cat No. 7D-008-099) and DCC sound-fitted (7D-008-099S) forms.
Priced at £225 DCC ready and £399 DCC sound-fitted, release is scheduled during 2024.
