With four weeks to go until the doors open to the 10th anniversary Great Electric Train Show at the Marshall Arena in Milton Keynes, we've picked our top ten highlights of the 2023 event which takes place on October 14/15...

Wardwood OO gauge model railway.

  1. It's our tenth anniversary!
Amazingly it is 10 years since the first Great Electric Train Show took place in 2013. Celebrate with our stunning line up of amazing model railways in 'N', 'TT:120', 'OO9', 'OO' and 'P4' gauges.
  2. Making Tracks 1, 2 and 3 together for the first time!
All three of Pete Waterman's Making Tracks layouts are being joined together to create a single 152ft long super model of the West Coast Main Line for the Great Electric Train Show. It will model Watford Tunnel, Tring Cutting, Milton Keynes Central and Hillmorton Junction with full overhead wiring - all in 'OO' gauge.
  3. Brand-new Hornby Magazine and Key Model World layout
We are revealing a brand-new 'TT:120' scale layout built by the Hornby Magazine and Key Model World team and featuring exclusive new laser-cut building kits which will launch at the show. We can't wait to show you the results.
  4. Manufacturer stands
The trade listing includes FIVE locomotive and rolling stock manufacturers which offers a great opportunity to see the latest product samples from Hornby, Accurascale, Cavalex Models, Revolution Trains and Ellis Clark Trains
  5. New product announcements!
Each year we see new products revealed at the show, and this year is no exception. We already have our own projects to reveal at the Great Electric Train Show with more in the wings from the big names.
  6. Layouts from Cornwall to Scotland
We've hand picked the layouts for the 2023 show with our furthest travelled coming from Cornwall and Scotland while others are travelling from Kent, the Midlands, North Yorkshire and beyond.
  7. FREE parking all weekend!
We have FREE parking available to Great Electric Train Show visitors throughout the weekend. On Saturday October 14 parking is off-site at the Milton Keynes Bowl (MK5 8AA) due to the football match at the MK Dons Stadium. We will have a shuttle bus service with vintage buses on Saturday October 14 running between the Bowl and the Marshall Arena venue. Parking on Sunday October 15 will be at the venue.
  8. Travel by train and jump on our FREE shuttle bus
If you are arriving in Milton Keynes on the main line railway, we have a FREE shuttle bus running from Milton Keynes Central station to the venue each day on a half-hourly timetable starting at 9.15am.
  9. Meet the Hornby Magazine team at the show!
We will be at the show all weekend with the Hornby Magazine and Key Model World team of Mike, Mark and Jonathan. Ask them nicely and they will be happy to sign copies of the latest issue.
