What is Hornby's HM7000?

Hornby launched a new way to control model railways in 2023. MARK CHIVERS explains how the HM7000 system works - and why you should consider it.

Hornby’s exciting new HM7000 Bluetooth Digital Control System launched as part of the manufacturer’s 2023 range, offering a new way to digitally control locomotives using mobile technology.

The system centres around the new HM|DCC app which is a free download to a mobile or tablet device. It launched for use with Apple iOS devices, but is also now available to Android users too. For the system to work effectively on your mobile device, you need to download the app from your preferred app store and then link a Hornby account – via email and password - which is easy to set up at www.hornby.com. Once created , you are good to go.
