Model World LIVE is just a few weeks away on April 27/28 2024 and modellers across the country are busy completing their latest builds to display at the show. In this preview gallery, we showcase the latest projects - both complete and work in progress - which you can expect to see at the show.
Above: Newly completed and featuring on Key Model World is Chris Clifford's Dora Wings Fairey Delta FD.2 in 1/72 scale. See it on the Airfix Model World display.
The new event takes place at the NEC in Birmingham and combines railway, scale and radio control modelling in one event. More than 35 scale modelling displays covering more than 600ft will be at the debut show alongside an array of trader offering plastic kits, accessories, 3D printed products, reference material and more. These are joined by more than 35 model railways, including the biggest ever portable 'OO' gauge layout by Pete Waterman the Railnuts measuring 208ft x 14ft.
On top of this visitors to the show can expect Make and Take stands from Model Collect Create and House of Hobbies, stunning full-size exhibits including tracked military vehicles from Midland Military Vehicles, demonstrations for scale and railway modelling and more. West Midlands Police Scale Model Club
Above and below: West Midlands Police Scale Model Club members are busily preparing new builds to display at Model World LIVE including a pair of superbly painted Lancasters and a submarine with outstanding interior detail.
West Norfolk IPMS group
Above: Stuart Mackay of the West Norfolk IPMS will be displaying his new build of the Airfix 1/48 scale Fairey Gannet at Model World LIVE. It has been modelled with the wings stowed.

Training Aircraft Special Interest Group
Above: 2024 is a special year for the Training Aircraft SIG as we are celebrating the 50th Anniversary of the first flight of the Hawk Advanced Jet Trainer. Rob Monfea's workbench is filled with projects modelling different Hawk marks and operators from around the globe with new additions set to appear at Model World LIVE.

F-14 Tomcat Special Interest Group
Above: David Bennett of the F-14 Tomcat Special Interest Group has been building a Great Wall Hobby 1/48 scale F-14B for the show which is now complete while a 1/72 scale Fujimi F-14F Super Tomcat is also under construction to be ready for the event to join the SIG line up.

Above and below: Richard Spreckley is currently working on an AlleyCat limited run resin Spitfire prototype. The finished model will represent the airframe on its first roll out from the factory on March 5 1936 before painting.
