Accurascale offers new HUOs
Accurascale has produced a new production run of its popular first 'OO' gauge ready-to-run model - the BR 24.5ton HUO coal hopper. The new batch models wagons in the pre-TOPS era and four triple packs are available.
BR built 5,263 HUO hoppers from 1954 for coal transport and the last were withdrawn from main line service in the 1980s.
The new batch features the same specification as the original, first released in 2018, but all wagons feature new identities. The wagons have sprung buffers, NEM coupling pockets and small tension lock couplings, darkened metal wheels, factory fitted wire handrails, individual lettering and numbering on each vehicle and the option to convert to 'EM' or 'P4' gauge with replacement wheelsets.
The production run is limited due availability of manufacturing time in China following the Covid-19 pandemic. Each triple pack is priced at £69.95 and a bundle deal to buy all four for £250 is available on the Accurascale website.
