Heljan Class 56 for 'O'
Heljan has released the first images of its hand-painted engineering sample of the highly anticipated 'O' gauge Class 56 Type 5 heavy freight diesel-electric. The model shown here has been painted by Brian Daniels to show the engineering sample in BR 'large logo' blue.
Heljan has said that work is already underway to refine and correct areas of the model as part of the development process and it is currently expected to go on sale in early 2021. The price per model is £699 and features are set to include twin five pole motors with brass flywheels, directional lighting, working roof fans, sprung buffers, sprung working screwlink couplings and Heljan's latest 'DCC Friendly' central Printed Circuit Board (PCB).
Eight versions are planned for release modelling the class, unnumbered - unless otherwise stated, in BR blue (Cat No. 5600), BR 'large logo' blue (5601), BR Railfreight grey (5602), BR Railfreight Red Stripe (5603), BR Railfreight triple grey (5604), 56101 Mutual Improvement in BR Coal Sector triple grey with weathering (5605), 56110 Croft in BR Construction Sector triple grey and Loadhaul black and orange (5607).
