NARROW GAUGE modelling has gained another boost this winter with Bachmann revealing the first tender version of the Penrhyn Quarry Mainline Hunslet 0-4-0 for 'OO9'.
The new announcement comes following the success and popularity of the original condition Mainline Hunslet 0-4-0STs for 'OO9' gauge which were announced in November 2022.
The latest version to be revealed by Bachmann is Linda in its early Ffestiniog Railway condition, as it ran between 1964-1969, with original 0-4-0 wheel arrangement coupled to a four-wheel tender to create an 0-4-0STT locomotive (Saddle Tank Tender). The model is finished in Ffestiniog Railway green and features an open back cab, firebox flicker, a factory fitted speaker, a Next18 DCC decoder socket. A coreless motor is fitted to the locomotive.
Unique features of the 'OO9' gauge model include a modified cab profile, left-hand drive, modified injector pipework, square sandboxes and twin whistles. Etched name and works plates are included with each model and Linda will be available DCC ready (Cat No. 391-130) and DCC sound fitted (391-130SF) - the latter equipped with a ZIMO MX659N18 sound decoder. The decoder can operate with basic sounds under analogue control, while the full suite of sounds is available under digital operation.
This new version of the Mainline Hunslet 0-4-0STT is due to arrive with Bachmann stockists from December 19 2022 with prices set at £214.94 (DCC ready) and £314.95 (DCC sound fitted).
