Colour for Dapol ‘OO’ Hawthorn Leslie 0-4-0ST

Dapol has received decorated samples of its newly-tooled ‘OO’ gauge 0-4-0STs for assessment.

Vast numbers of these workhorse 0-4-0STs were built between 1899 and 1924 for industrial use at power stations, coal mines, quarries, iron works and more. Ten examples have been preserved.

Dapol’s new ‘OO’ gauge models will feature a die-cast compensated chassis, five-pole skew-wound motor, cast wheels, all-wheel pick-up and Next18 Digital Command Control (DCC) decoder socket.

Nine standard models are set to form the first batch of releases including No. 4 Asbestos in green with yellow lining (Cat No 4S-024-001), Henry in black with red lining (4S-024-002), Invincible in maroon with straw lining (4S-024-003), No. 56 in Port of London Authority blue with yellow lining (4S-024-004), No. 8 National Coal Board (NCB) blue with straw lining (4S-024-005), Faraday in green (4S-024-006), Spider in Black Park Colliery green (4S-024-007), No. 13 in Newcastle Electric Supply livery with yellow chevrons (4S-024-008) and Wallaby in Australian Iron and Steel Company livery (4S-024-009).

Each of the decorated samples is subject to amendment before production commences.

Priced at £126.36 DCC ready, £164.16 DCC fitted and £266.36 DCC sound fitted, release is anticipated in late 2024.
