Built in 1951, these distinctive wagons featured wooden planked drop side doors and were used for transporting ballast and spoil to/from engineering sites. They were later coded YCO and remained in service into the early 1980s.

Two versions of the all-new models were announced in 2020 as DB990099 (Cat No. OR76PIL001) and DB990092 (Cat No. OR76PIL002) in BR departmental black.

Since the original announcement, the decoration specification has changed to an as-built condition, as Oxford Rail's Scott Rhodes explained: “We consulted with a well known wagon enthusiast who advised there were no official colours and most were unpainted but some might have been painted similar to the model finish we have.”

Priced at £14.95 each, delivery is expected during the third quarter of the year.
