Kernow Model Rail Centre (KMRC) has commissioned an ‘N’ gauge Class 31 from Graham Farish, finished as D5579 in BR golden ochre.
D5579 entered traffic in early 1960, allocated to Stratford depot in East London. It was delivered in an experimental bronze gold colour scheme, more commonly referred to as golden ochre. It was repainted in BR green with small yellow warning panels in early 1966 and went on to be renumbered as 31161 in late 1974.
The model features a coreless motor, Next18 Digital Command Control (DCC) decoder socket, independently controlled directional lighting, factory-fitted speaker and Rapido couplings in NEM coupling pockets.
Prices are £179.95 DCC ready and £279.99 DCC sound-fitted, with delivery due in late 2022/early 2023.
