Hattons Originals ‘OO’ gauge Warwell wagons

With a new batch of ‘OO’ gauge Warwell wagons revealed by Hattons in its revival of the Hattons Originals collection, MIKE WILD takes a closer look at the first releases.

The Hattons Originals ‘OO’ gauge Warwell wagons first appeared on the scene in summer 2017 offering a new choice of ready-to-run wagon to suit a wide variety of eras. 

This was the first Hatton’s home-grown product which it had produced entirely by itself without working with a third-party manufacturer to liaise with the factory. And impressive it is too. In the first batch Hattons delivered a range of vehicle types on the ‘Warwell’ frame covering original pattern vehicles with diamond bogies, those converted as rail carriers, bolster deck wagons and post-1970s vehicles with Gloucester GPS bogies. The new batch announced in April is similarly varied and covers eight different vehicles.
