Mk 4s

Hornby has received the first Engineering Prototype (EP) sample of its newly tooled ‘OO’ gauge BR Mk 4 Driving Van Trailer (DVT) for evaluation as well as its first sample of the Mk 4 buffet.

Four models are planned initially in BR InterCity (R40161), GNER (R40147), LNER (R40158) and Transport for Wales (R40190) colour schemes, with accurate detailing according to the period modelled, together with directional lighting, sprung metal buffers, turned metal wheels and NEM couplings.

Mk 4s

Since Hornby Magazine closed for press, Hornby has also revealed the first engineering sample of its all-new BR Mk 4 carriages, offering a first glimpse of these sought-after vehicles.

The initial sample covers the buffet car in original and later modified forms, though Hornby has already noted a missing window from the original version. All Mk 4 vehicles will accurately reflect their in-service appearance at the time and enable prototypical full InterCity 225 train formations to be assembled.

Prices are set at £36.99 for the Mk 4 carriages and £69.99 for the Mk 4 DVTs.
