V2

Four exclusive editions using Bachmann’s all-new model of the Gresley ‘V2’ 2-6-2 for ‘OO’ gauge have been announced by Locomotion Models and Rails of Sheffield. The limited editions are due for release in 2021 alongside Bachmann’s main batch of new ‘V2s’.

The 184 ‘V2s’ were built between 1936 and 1944 and were associated with the East Coast Main Line between London and Aberdeen as well as the Great Central Railway where their work included passenger, parcels and fast freights. Withdrawals started in 1962 and the last was withdrawn in 1966.

One has been preserved in the National Collection – 60800 Green Arrow which was the first of the class to enter traffic in 1936. It is currently on display at the Locomotion in Shildon.

The specification for the all-new Bachmann ‘OO’ gauge model includes a 21-pin decoder socket, pre-fitted speaker, firebox flicker, a new locomotive to tener coupling and five pole motor. The exclusive models are split between Locomotion Models and Rails of Sheffield.
