Rapido Trains UK is to produce its very first ‘N’ gauge ready-to-run carriage - the LNER Dynamometer Car.
The ‘OO’ gauge version of this model was highly praised for its detailed interior and underframe and Rapido says it is including much of this detail on the ’N’ gauge version.
The new model is set to feature a detailed interior and separately fitted parts including the distinctive recorder wheel. Sprung NEM coupler pockets will help the model to negotiate curves of 263.5mm radius.
Planned liveries are 23591 in LNER livery (1928-1938 condition), 902502 in LNER post-1946 condition and E902501 in BR colours. Two fictional colour schemes are also being produced - DB905202 in Railway Technical Centre red/blue and E902502 in BR lined maroon, exclusive to Rails of Sheffield.
Priced at £99.95 each, tooling is due to begin soon with release anticipated for late 2023/early 2024.
