Revolution ‘Zander' rolls in for 'N' gauge

Allied to the release of the all-new ‘N’ gauge Class A tank wagons, Revolution Trains has also just released newly-tooled ‘N’ gauge models of the 24.5ton MTV aggregate and ZKV ‘Zander’ ballast open wagon.

These ‘new’ aggregate box open wagons utilised the underframes from redundant vacuum braked tank wagons and were converted by Standard Wagon in the mid 1970s, each receiving a newly-constructed body in place of the former tank barrels and TOPS coded MTV. 150 vehicles were introduced for use on aggregates traffic, with some receiving distinctive STONE branding on the bodysides – some were also used on salt and sand traffic. As replacement air-braked stock was introduced, the wagons were cascaded for departmental use and recoded ZKV, receiving the ‘Zander’ fishkind name in the process, remaining in service into the late 1990s.

Revolution Trains’ (RT) all-new ‘N’ gauge model reflects the models from the mid-to-late 1970s to the late 1990s.
