Welcome to Fairwood Junction, on the Great Western Main Line just outside Westbury where the avoiding line route rejoins the station line. It is a favourite spot for railway enthusiasts, with trains heading west towards Taunton, Exeter, Plymouth and Cornwall in the shadow of Westbury’s famous white horse.
I have been modelling for most of my life, starting with a layout fixed to a wall in my bedroom. I rapidly progressed to more scenic models, many of which I have been fortunate to have had photographed and published over the years. I am a serial layout builder and with each project I endeavour to try something new – a scenic technique, scale, gauge, or in this case Digital Command Control (DCC).
