Planet Industrials commissions 21ton mineral opens
Planet Industrials has commissioned a batch of Accurascale's forthcoming 'OO' gauge 21ton steel mineral open wagons in an exclusive industrial colour scheme.
Inspired by the internal user wagons at Grimethorpe Colliery in North Yorkshire, the wagons will be finished in a distinctive orange and dark grey livery. Utilising Accurascale's newly-tooled 'OO' gauge 21ton MDO wagon as the basis, they will be supplied in a triple-pack of wagons containing three individually numbered vehicles - 66, 142 and 161. Printed embellishments will be minimal and transfer packs will also be available to further customise each wagon and enable multiple packs to be renumbered to create longer rakes of individually numbered wagons. A free transfer sheet will be supplied with multiple purchases, providing sufficient elements to renumber a further nine examples.
Planet Industrials' exclusive wagons will feature a highly detailed body and underframe, sprung spindle buffers, oil axleboxes, separately applied detailing, turned metal wheels, small tension lock couplings in NEM pockets and more.
Following assessment of the decorated sample illustrated, the models have been approved for production, subject to toning down the orange used to a darker, less vibrant colour.
Priced at £74.95 per pack, delivery is expected later this summer.
