All-new Class 20 leads Bachmann Announcements
Bachmann has unveiled its Spring 2021 British Model Railway Announcements with news of an all-new BR Class 20/0 diesel for 'OO' together with tooling revisions for its 'OO' gauge GWR 'Modified Hall' 4-6-0 and a raft of new liveries on existing models across its 'OO' and 'N' gauge ranges.
Ruston and Hornsby 88DS decorated samples
Development work on Hornby’s new ‘OO’ gauge Ruston and Hornsby 88DS 0-4-0 4wDM shunter is progressing well with factory-decorated pre-production samples arriving for evaluation.
Refurbished 'O' Class 31 samples
Heljan has received the first factory decorated samples of its forthcoming 'O' gauge refurbished Class 31/1 and 31/4 A1A-A1As.

As British Railways started replacing steam, a new breed of prototype locomotives started to appear on passenger and freight workings in the 1950s and 1960s. MARK CHIVERS presents a selection of train formations utilising the new breed from this experimental period in BR’s history.
