Accurascale reveals decorated 16ton mineral wagon samples

Accurascale has received decorated samples of its forthcoming all-new 16ton steel mineral wagons for ‘OO’ gauge.

The vehicles were mainstays of the British Railways era and were replaced by higher capacity wagons from the 1960s onwards.

20 triple wagon packs are planned for ‘OO’, covering BR grey with original text on black panels, pre-TOPs coal livery in original and rebodied versions and TOPS form with data panel. Other liveries planned include NCB Bates Colliery black, Onllywn Colliery stale grey, CEGB yellow and Horwich rail blue.

NCB liveries will also be available.

Before proceeding to the next stage of development, the manufacturer has identified several improvements to be made to the paint finish, fitment of parts and elimination of skinkage to some areas that occurred in the injection moulding process.

Priced at £74.94 per pack, delivery is anticipated during the third quarter of 2024.
