EXCLUSIVE INTERVIEW: Accurascale product update

Accurascale has grown rapidly since it launched its first products in 2018. MARK CHIVERS meets with Project Manager STEVE PURVES to catch up on the latest progress with its ever-expanding collection of ‘OO’ gauge locomotives and rolling stock.Photography, Mike Wild.

Accurascale has been making a big splash in the British model railway pond. Its debut in 2018 with the BR 24.5ton HUO hopper was a low-profile but compelling statement of its future, with the past 12 months seeing the arrival of its first three ready-to-run powered locomotives covering the Class 55 ‘Deltic’ in May 2022 followed by the Class 92 electric in December 2022 and most recently during May 2023 the first versions of its all-new Class 37 Co-Co diesel-electric.

However, those arrivals are just the tip of the iceberg as Accurascale is charging through an impressive list of ‘most wanted’ models for ‘OO’ gauge covering locomotives, carriages and wagons while also striving to offer a comprehensive package covering realistic sound, lighting and unique differences between sub-classes.
